The faculty of Social Sciences was established in 2003 as a division of Shiraz University with three departments: Economics, Social Sciences, and Management and Accounting.

In 2006, The Management and Accounting departments were divided and continued to work as two independent departments. In 2009, Department of Tourism Management was added to this faculty. Currently, this faculty continues to work with five departments.
